Fast Importing BLK Scans From iPad Using USB3

Post by c2a »

I'd like to import BLK scans from our iPad directly into Cyclone Register 360 via USB3 cable. Is anyone doing this and can explain their process?

With the new BLK360 G2, I hate having the scanner working for hours just to transfer. Also, going wirelessly from iPad server sync takes days. So, we'd like to somehow use a wired iPad.

Thanks for any advice!

Yep I sent the same request to HDS support and BLK support this past week. The Android app is better because you can export toan *.FAF file, that has the FULL Data including Panos and it stores it on the local device drive (I have 256 GB in my phones) then you can just plug into a USB-C connection on the computer or transfer to a USB-C Key out the bottom of the phone and take it to your computer. If you have really big job, I would suggest not putting it all in one F360 project ,but break it down to segments of bundles (You can fully optimize a bundle with crosslinks now in F360 and hold everything together to bring into Reg 360 Plus (*.FAF's can be imported into the software as a file).
iOS system creates an invisible barrier and hog-ties you to the WIFI only solution, including getting the FAF file out of F360 by having to have it write it to an online storage location (e.g. Google Drive, Onedrive, etc). Their application engineers must think up these things in the back room of their offices where they have a 1GB Wireless set up in the office
