Yes, I also print 11x17" paper targets on the same laser printer.
Remember to not scan a checkered target straight on but not too far off center either
Scanning the target straight on can cause reflection problems and not pickup the black.
I use Target-mill.com software to print my targets.

I am really curious to see how you are getting targets at 100' to be recognized by scene. Are you doing any window scanning at 1/2 or something like that? How big are these targets?LPaulCook wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 12:55 am Yes, I also print 11x17" paper targets on the same laser printer.

Re: B/W targets missing data - I am stumped.
A long time ago in a job far far away Cyclone changed the "intensity overload threshold" settings and math and I had trouble similar to yours with a HDS6000. All my far targets had no change of colour. I cant quite remember exactly what it meant but I think the software was increasing or decreasing the intensity return values based on the distance from the scanner, and theyd mucked this up and it couldnt be fixed.
Had to wait for a new version and did the targeting by manually fitting cylinders to the face of the target which was less than ideal but got the job done. We still get the occasional target even with a P40 that doesnt change colour or will only return one colour (the white part)
Im suggesting you have a look at the intesity import settings if there is such a thing in faro.
Cheers
Phill

I also have a feeling that this something the new versions of scene have broken. There is a filter to filter out points below a threshold but I leave that at zero or turned off.
The problem I am seeing is that Faro is not seeing the black.
Their PDF targets, look black and white but are actually a very dark share of gray. I need to experiment a little, I am becoming a Faro fan I really like their software and kit but this target issues are just driving me crazy.
