Hi there,
I will be starting a sub-station project shortly using the RTC360. Previously I have always used Faro units, normally in 1/4 resolution.
I have a few queries I would appreciate if somebody could answer for me.
I have been told on the RTC360 using medium resolution the black and white targets need to be within 2m to be reliably detected and at high resolution within 5-10m.
What resolution does the medium resolution correlate to on the faro and also the high resolution setting?
Last one, what range can be expected using 145mm spheres in medium and the high resolutions on the RTC?
Many thanks

rtc360
-low res => 12.56mm@10m
-middle res => 6.28mm@10m
-high res => 3.14mm@10m (max range 65m, clipped)
you can guess based on this.

We scan Sub stations and generator houses all the time. medium res with Color works great.Least wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:51 am Hi there,

For the BW targets one of the best things is being as near to perpendicular to the target when scanning it. And although it isn't always an option, avoid putting the targets on round columns and objects.
You can always manually pick the targets in the Software.
Leicas Magic number is minimum of 19 lines of Scan data through a target. So based on that you can decide your distances.
