Why is it not possible any more?

Because the functionality TIMED OUT on the 1.1.2021 Would have been a licencing issue with ZF

- and Leica Geosystems knew that it would yet sold a product that had a grenade within. Yet, would not fix this. Required or ask $7,000 to upgrade - Hence the workaround.
Not impressed. As it worked fine for 8 years. Paid for in full. Only a few of us will be affected. But some of us build our business around this working.

I don't understand what their issue could be. We are using Cyclone 9.4 to process our Leica 6000 zfs scans.

We certainly haven't been 'TIMED OUT' of any functionality.

My CYCLONE 9.1 Stopped allowing the import of .zfs files on return from the Christmas Break. After about 3 days of reinstalling - farting about - you can imagine all the things I tried. Finally having work to complete after 2020, and now NOT being able to continue was stressful (just a tiny wee bit)

My Leica Reseller here in NZ, made all sort of claims and ideas. Then came back to me with information from Leica in Germany.

That yes, I was correct. The function had stopped or TIMED OUT on the 1.1.2021. And no, there was no fix available or would be forthcoming.

The only fix was to upgrade at a cost of $7000 NZ$ - Both my Cyclone and TruView licences keys - much MORE if I wanted to upgrade MODEL.

Mike

Im not from Leica but yep. They all timed out - even the 2020 version, so I dont think Leica knew about it, I suspect it was the ZF sdk that had the said "grenade". I was given a hotfix which got mine going agin with our old steam driven HDS7000 and Cyclone 2020.1, but I had been hanging on to V9.4 for dear life as it was the last version that allowed window re-importing.

Cheers

Phill
