Reg 360 glitches

Post by Carbix » Wed Jun 12, 2019 4:44 am

Ok so I'm having some major issues with Reg360. We are currently halfway through scanning a tower top to bottom and the reg file is at about 800gb.

Issues I'm getting are:
-Setups intangled clones be sent to other sites in bulk. If I delete the clone it deletes the original.
-The Site tab expanding on its own... SOOOO frustrating
-Reg constantly crashing.

I'm running this on a 2990wx 98gb ram with a 6tb pool in raid 0 striped. I have restarted the file and going back to my 1tb nvme.

Any ideas as to why this is happening. The Clones increase the complexity and the file becomes unreasonable to optimize.

How many setups do you have in any one project?

Remember, REG360 is good for up to about 500 scans (I've seen 1 job with more, in testing, and it ran ok actually) - this is what we have always recommended. Beyond this, use Cyclone REGISTER. Do you have access this to this?

What do you mean by "clones"? Do you mean when you've brought some scans from an existing bundle to a new site-map? I've never heard the term "clone" used before in REG360.

Based on your other issues, I think you might have a graphics card problem...

By clone, I mean the program glitches and makes copies of setups in other sites.

Im over 800 setups on this one job and we are 2/3 done.

Just wow

Since this guy posted one unhelpful thing I will post another

Boy am I glad I thought twice before jumping all in on the Leica bandwagon

I would be angry paying all that money to be a beta tester...

I’m not making fun of you brother I have been there and I truly feel for you

Good luck

We have always, from day one, said REG360 is a sub 500 scan solution... This is why Cyclone CORE continues to exist and gradually we are adding feature parity across the solutions.

I have never seen "glitching" and duplicate set-ups - not once. When I say "testing", I mean MY PERSONAL testing, not Product Development.

This version of REG360 was in beta for a good period before release (myself included in this process and I have not experienced this). I am just passing on my advice. So back to the original post, and now in the knowledge this user is well over the 500 station recommendation, I would suggest they move to Cyclone REGISTER instead (Import REGISTER 360 Project facilitates this).

I've been on LSF since day dot almost and hand out free advice and suggestions almost daily. I like to think I am pretty helpful. Sorry you don't see it this way. All I try and do is help.

I queried several EUR colleagues on this.

The highest number of set-ups we have seen in a single REG360 project is 1400...

So, bang goes the theory, you can use it for more than 500! #iamwrongsometimes

Apparently, the machine used was FAR less spec than the one you are having issues with.

I suggest, if not already, this is logged with your local support team for follow up.
