C10 Data Recovery

Post by jamesworrell » Tue Apr 17, 2018 10:26 am

Hi Steven et al ... aiming this one at you.

This one is coming back in from the field tomorrow - so will be seeing if it still boots etc.

If I manage to get control of it - all good - but if I can't, where is the data at? Can I slip the SSD into a desktop and recover easily? Or to get it ala the normal Scanstation USB transfer format is there a database extract type tool or something?

Fun times ..

Apart from thh data recovery very sad indeed, i hope you can get this fixed. I don't know the circumstances but i never leave the instrument alone.

First, Sorry

First port of call is always your local support, who In this case would likely speak to our second support of to the factory direct to see what your options are as I guess you would like the data off the scanner as thats not insured but the scanner is (I hope)
I'm sure you can get at the data off the SSD easily but get your support to manage that.

Happens .. no one was killed. And insurance might mean a new one after Hexagon ;)

Just for interest/update - we have some control over it .. USB seems a bit flakey (who would have thought!?) - wifi wouldn't work .. Ethernet wouldn't work .. Xena front end is locked up .. but can get to windows. Can't seem to copy in bulk so have to get a scan at a time - the copy crashes/times out .. but we are getting them.
