Point Cloud Colour when Exporting

Post by robertbon » Fri Jan 12, 2018 8:30 am

How can I export a point cloud from cyclone so that all the points are a single colour? I have a modelspace for every floor of a current project and I would like to export them so they each have a different colour.

Most software packages have ways to view each scan in a different color. You could potentially unify each pointcloud that represent a floor in Cyclone and then export them out as a single cloud (per floor). Then change the way you view it in your desire software.

Exporting from Cyclone, converting to .rcs in Recap, and then importing into Revit. The problem I am trying to solve is that in Revit I can only change the colour of points in each individual view I'm using, not across the whole project, which is tiresome when one has lots of point clouds and views to manage.

In Cyclone, I've tried using the global colour map to change the all the point to green in the modelspace viewer, but they still export as the original intesity/colour.

PS. Are there any plans to add exporting directly to Autodesk .rcs format in Cyclone?

only solution I can think of is to export each floor separately and make a rcs for each, and load each one at a time in Revit, you should be able to color each separate rcs file and turn them on and off

You can try to process with a third part software.
Arena 4d data studio can do it.
