Has anybody used/purchased one of these? What are your thoughts and results?

I've seen it around for a while but never seen anyone using one.

Is this hardware not something that's being phased out with the new sensors integrated into the latest scanners, combined with real-time registration?

I agree, I was just wondering if anyone had ever tried one or even purchased one?

We had the chance to use one for a couple of weeks. We did a review in LiDAR News. Feel free to ask any questions you have about it.

Hey Brian, that's a really good review.
My only query is - why did so many of the 'regular' registrations fail? I could understand if the auto-registration using localised failed, but I would have imagined the more traditional, manual registration would be done by a surveyor or data processor, and they wouldn't stop working on the registration until it was complete and successful?

To be more clear, these were tests of successes on the first registration attempt with no input from the user. These registrations would have worked just fine, but would have required input from the data processor, while the scans where the localizer was used needed no further input and registered automatically on the first attempt.
