Re: NEW Stonex XH120 SLAM Laser Scanner
A lot of solutions are based on the same hardware, could well be a re-badged Foxtech unit. Last time I looked at the Foxtech stuff it was very competitively priced but the data wasn't that great. You really need to get a few sample point clouds and start looking at some thin slices up close to figure out whether these units can meet your needs. Given the way that mobile mapping is going, also worth checking whether this system has well aligned geo-referenced images. This is increasingly become a must have feature rather than a nice extra these days.Krishsankar wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 4:03 pm This looks similar to Foxtech Slam 100... Re: NEW Stonex XH120 SLAM Laser Scanner
Just had a look at the specs and I don't think this is an OEM of the current Foxtech unit. The Foxtech Slam 100 spec claims 320 thousand points per second with 2cm ranging accuracy and the Stonex XH120 claims 655 thousand at 1cm ranging accuracy. There are quite a few other differences. With any of this kit you really need a demo dataset on ground you're familiar to check if it meets your needs. Pretty pictures of a point cloud zoomed out to show a large area are of no value. Stonex video say 3.5cm accuracy which limits its usefulness for many applications.

When i look at these pictures on their site the only application i see is volume measurements. Doesn't look crisp at all.
Yet another cheaper and fast forgotten solution.....
