BuildIT handles any orientation, I've even calculated the volume of a square/rectangular tank.Raimund58 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 2:58 pmThis looks like a flaw to me. Why does this only works with vertical vessels?scott.diaz wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 2:42 pm The AsBuilt/PointSense tools only work with vertical vessels.

Re: Tank volume analysis
Can't you just rotate the point cloud so the object is aligned in a way the software can use it?scott.diaz wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 2:42 pm The example from the website looks like a horizontal vessel. The AsBuilt/PointSense tools only work with vertical vessels. PM me or send me an email and i will have one of our engineers get you a vertical tank for testing in As-Built. You could use the same for BuildIT.

Re: Tank volume analysis
Yes of course and this is fine for shell deformation analysis in As-Built. Actually you dont need to do that just for shell analysis. But if you want to use the function for volume analysis (how much liquid is in the tank at various interval heights) then this is not useful. Like Josh said though, BuildIT doesnt care about orientation like As-Built. It is a much stronger analysis tool

Re: Tank volume analysis
Hello, how does it work with Tank volume analysis for tilted to one side horizontal tank?? the tank's right side is shifted by 15cm to earth due to earth shift. the volume analysis shows a tank volume that would be normal (not tilted to side due to earth shift) horizontal tank but mine is not.

Re: Tank volume analysis
The production of accurate strapping tables from laser scan data is a service that we provide to a number of users on this forum. Our in house software takes into account deadwood and produces a strapping table with a volume for every millimeter. Tilted tanks are no problem. If you are interested in a quote for the processing, please send me a PM.
