Howto batch-export tagets from scanworlds in Cyclone 9.x

Post by mes@vst »

Hi all,

I am looking for a way to export individual targets from scanworlds in a Cyclone 9.x database.
Does anyone have experience with this? And do you want to share it?

This is the situation:

I have imported a scan project into Cyclone. And as such I have a set of unregistered scanworlds.
In each scanworld I have 4-6 targets (TargetID) that do have coordinates in the local coordinate system of that particular scanworld.

Now I would like to be able to export the targets from each scanworld, such that I get a list of targets per scanworld and formatted as "<TargetID>,<X>,<Y>,<Z>". Does anyone have ideas on how to this?

Thanks in advance for your reactions.

PeterM.

P.S.
1) I can do it manually, but that is not what I want because is is very cumbersome when there are more than three scanworlds.
2) In Cyclone 7.4 it was possible to retrieve target information from text-files that were generated and stored with each scanworld, but for some reason it was decided not to provide this information anymore.

Hi,

- Open either the individual modelspace for the scan or the combined modelspace for all scans. Top view is good.
- Goto Selection (pull-down)
- Set Selectable and make invisible everything except "vertexes"

You should now have an almost blank top-view showing only your targets.

- Goto Selection (pull-down)
- Select All ( or fence and select fenced)
- Goto File (pull-down)
- Export
- Change export format to .txt
- After entering filename/location you will be prompted to setup your custom format i.e.TargetID,X,Y,Z)

Alternatively you might be able to open the Registration and select Registration (pull-down) and then Show Diagnostics, with some filtering and reformatting of this textfile you might get the tgt co-ords I can't remember off the top of my head..

Veel succes

Registration diagnostics will not give you vertex coordinates, only vector errors and scan positions.
You need to use Richard solution 1.
Or on cyclone model space, export Leica 1200 format and open de dbx in Leica Geoffice to export csv format.

That's a nice idea for a future CCP add-in. They're working on the assumption you are going the other direction control INTO the scan-cloud.
