Software for Deliverables
I've finally decided on the scanner I am purchasing and that is the faro s350, next dilemma is software for creating deliverables for topographic plans, some earthwork volumes which may create tins or mesh for volume data, and particularly creating 2d and 3d plan drawings. As I spent about 15yrs measuring and draughting buildings with a 2m rod, disto and total station and then draughting in cad, the scanner can do the measuring but what is the best software to create the end product. Opinions much appreciated.

Re: Software for Deliverables
Alot can be done with N4CE and from what i have seen posted on the forum SCC also.
I dont think there is a one stop shop for point cloud related deliverable though.

If you are doing Topo and DTMs / Volumes, I would definitely recommend LSS and their Point Cloud Module (https://www.dtmsoftware.com/)

Re: Software for Deliverables
n4ce definitely fits the bill for that. topo, elevations, utilities, survey adjustments, volumes, contouring, Point cloud processing, CAD and more in one package so less to learn. If you are on LinkedIn have search for us n4cesoftware or appsincadd.
No pressure as we don't want to "sell" on this site but we can easily set you up with a trial to show you what we can do.

Re: Software for Deliverables
Hi Paddy,
SCC can certainly produce everything you've listed above from your raw scan data very easily and includes a large range of automated feature extraction tools to automatically draw up elements such as kerbs, barriers, building foot prints etc... as well as meshing tools for the TIN, volumes, contours and sections. We have a youtube channel here with a lot of videos illustrating what can be done and can provide a 30 day demo version and organise an online demo if it would be beneficial,
