That's a great table, it's more compressed for the looks of it.
Has the import speed remained the same, improved, or suffered a slow down?

Machine dependent, I am seeing much improved import times for coloured and non-coloured scans with new FW and HW.
Running Xeon, 64gm Ram, Nvidia P5000 and SSD's.

Re: Leica RTC360 vs Faro Focus S150
We trialled both and went with the S150, but still mainly use full fat Cyclone to process.
Onsite reg works well if you remember overlaps, and moving object filter works well once you've got the setting dialled in.
Don't know if the RTC colour has changed with new FW, but Faro colour looks more 'real' based on what we saw.

We used an RTC360 on a project when it was first released and the colour was very disappointing. This has definitely been improved since then, and we are very impressed with the imagery that can now be acquired. I think the latest firmware also lets you export panos.

Wasn't one of the recent RTC360 firmware updates supposed to add .exr panorama export? Could you share one of those?

Re: Leica RTC360 vs Faro Focus S150
That is nothing to do with the FW update per se, but an EXR is indeed exported when using a valid Cyclone Publisher Pro License to export your Pano image from Cyclone or Cyclone REGISTER 360.

Re: Leica RTC360 vs Faro Focus S150
FARO On-Site registration works only on small projects and not with a tablet. With decent settings you have to stay under 20 setups, it is possible to do more with a laptop with lower settings and processing in BW then reprocess in color, but certainly not with a tablet.
S150 decent settings gets you 4:30-5:30 scan times with color. We are seeing much more interest in color point clouds now that scanning is main stream. I believe decent settings with RTC gets you 2:00-3:00 minute scan times, but I have personally not used it.
As far as range is concerned they really are similar, the FARO S150 shoots 150 meters but good accurate data is not 150 meters, I typically only rely on data at about 200' which in most cases is plenty.

Re: Leica RTC360 vs Faro Focus S150
Im running my S70 at 1/4 and 4x quality with color and im scanning around 10 min. each and i get great data. when i cut it back, i find that the point cloud isnt dense enough to pick up my control points (checker targets) unless they are really close. I think to get a 4 min scan with color, the resolution is super low. also, i run a hard stop at 120 feet. if i remember correctly, that will give a 0.125 in angular accuracy...I don't think the S150 will do much better.
when i do projects that are 500+ scans, I'm selective about which areas get the 1/4 and ill cut it back to 1/5 for the general scans and those run about 6-7 min with 4x quality.
But all this depends on what works for the project / client.
