Cloudworx for Autocad Plant 3D

Post by dineshkimraj »

Good day all, we have a client who would like a CADworx model to be converted to a Plant 3D model. They need the intelligence of the piping. Right now our option is to model in Cadworx and then import that model into Plant 3D and then model the piping there.

Does Leica have a Cloudworx plugin for Plant 3D? Hopefully we can model straight in Plant 3D.

If not, does anyone have any advice on the best way to go about this?

Hey Dinesh,

What you are looking for is Cloudworx for AutoCAD. It will run on top of AutoCAD, and you can run either Plant 3D or CADWorx with it.

We have Cloudworx for AutoCAD. But there isn't the cloudworx tab in plant 3d like the one that can be seen in AutoCAD.

I just noticed that Cloudworx is supported for AutoCAD versions up to 2019, so I am going to install Plant 3D 2019 and see if this works.

Have you tried running the menuload command and loading the Cloudworx.cuix file?

Make sure you're trying to install Cloudworx 6.4.2 as well, prior versions may not install on 2019.

Hey that was a great suggestion. It loaded. But when I tried to to import a pointcloud it says it does not recognise the command.

Also, when I quit plant 3d and try to reopen it, it crashes.
