Re: Live Position feature in Cyclone FIELD 360
Makes our investment in P series scanners look even worse every day.... It's hard to see these kinds of updates not be applied to pro level scanners.

The P-series are great scanners and will receive firmware enhancements soon. These are different data capture devices which have not superceded the p-series range.
Speak to your local Leica rep about the main differences and to see if you have the right product for your workflow (see below).

Phil,
Do you know if there are plans for the P series to be able to run off of the field 360 app? This would obviously be a major step forward in the registration process. Combining them would enable 1 download, 1 import and 1 registration, rather than having to repeat the processes for the separate scanners.
Regards,
Jay Miller

Re: Live Position feature in Cyclone FIELD 360
Support for the BLK360 will be added to Cyclone FIELD 360 very soon (in fact, I saw a demonstration of the beta version yesterday and it was really good!)
I have heard nothing about the potential to add ScanStation series support, but this is something I can ask about: it does seem like a good idea... but I am not sure on the technical limitations.
The main difference with the BLK360 implementation is that we will bring down all the data from the scanner to the tablet (this take 30-40 seconds post scan) as opposed to the RTC360 where the full data resides on the scanner and we only bring across the light-weight preview object (LWPO) in a few seconds post scan.

Re: Live Position feature in Cyclone FIELD 360
I tend to agree with Phil. Ensure you have the right product for your needs.
There was never really a plan to offer tablet support for the ScanStation Series, and it's pretty safe to say the ScanStation is an awesome beast of a scanner... I'd be more than happy with one for a whole variety of surveying tasks.
On the flip-side there is no survey workflow on an RTC360... so, swings and roundabouts...
As Phil states we have 3 different levels of scanners (and a sub-selection within the P-series 30/40/50), all of which have a place within a surveyors tool-set.
Regardless, I will ask the question about ScanStation support within Cyclone FIELD 360.

Paul, this is great news about the blk support on field 360 app, cant wait to be honest! is the field 360 app a separate purchase or will it be available if you have a cyclone licence via leica my world?

Re: Live Position feature in Cyclone FIELD 360
also Paul this is great news for BLK users as if indeed the field 360 app brings the entire scan over to the tablet this theoretically means that the job can be transferred from the table in the office and thus cuts out the time consuming wifi download issues the blk has ( i.e no more slow downloads and battery changing!.)

Re: Live Position feature in Cyclone FIELD 360
I see field 360 is available on iOS and Android does it work in chrome OS ? Is there a minimum specification for the android tablet? I think an iPad pro is recommended on the iOS side.
Edit:
Does it work in chrome OS?
