Land Surveyor.

I need to approach some people with "3d laserscanning specialist" though. Everyone thinks land surveyors are old farts.

I'm a 3D CAD/BIM, Laser scanning, Survey and Geo-referencing, data processing, problem solver, with in depth knowledge of steel fabrication, construction, civil and process plant and equipment ;)

But my title is CAD/BIM Lead

It would be nice to see a standardized language applied to these services, such as CAD managers turning into BIM coordinators. Are there standardized titles currently in use?

Land / Building Surveyor
Reality Capture Specialist
3D Mapping Manager
Point Cloud Monkey

Do you have any others?

Cheers!
I personally like Metrologist but I am not sure its a word. I have seen Metrology Engineer ... that sounds really legit too. When you think this through we all just are kind of making up names as this type of vertical integration is pretty new.

Love this- Metrology (measurement science) is an interesting and unusual profession. Some practitioners design measurement systems or instruments. Others perform calibrations. Still others do basic research into underlying scientific principles.

Forensic Technician
- Largely responsible for the acquisition or collection of 3D survay data via Terrestrial Lidar instruments and Arial photography. (Scan monkey)
- Frequently tasked with processing the collected data with a number of point cloud, photogrammetry, and CAD software. (CAD jockey)
- Most enjoyably, interrogate the data and find ways to improve the output of our visualizations and graphical analysis. (Wizard?)
