3D scanning project: a bike (Artec Space Spider and Artec Eva)

Post by Artec Group »

Below are some pictures and 3D meshes from an interesting project: Artec team has scanned the whole motorbike, using Artec Space Spider and Artec Eva. Eva was used for capturing a flat part of the seat and a large flat pipe on the left (if needed, both parts can be captured with Spider, but there was no need to do it in this particular project). Everything else, except these two places on a bike, is scanned by a Space Spider. Personally, I love the motorbike chain in 3D! :)

The size of raw 3D-scans was around 40 Gb in total. The simplified mesh, shown on the screenshots, contains ~11 million polygons, all post-processing was made in Artec Studio.
