Battery not charging in dock
Hello!
One of our batteries for our faro focus will charge fine in the scanner but if we put it in the dock it won't charge.
Has anyone has anyone else had this issue?
Our other batteries charge fine on the dock.
Cheers

Re: Battery not charging in dock
Its the dock.
The docks go bad constantly.
They get almost a grand out of them as well. I suggest ordering one now because we have been waiting on the two we ordered for 5 weeks!

Re: Battery not charging in dock
we have used a pencil erase or similar something to clean the contacts of the battery before when we have had issues getting them to charge.
I have never had an issue with the X330 battery doc yet.

Re: Battery not charging in dock
I was mentioned in that previous post and have had success calling FARO directly. Worth a shot

Re: Battery not charging in dock
Hi,
Sometimes the contact between the battery and the docks connectors is bad.
Here's a tip: listen to the transformer while charging. Push the battery. When really charging, the sound of the transformer changes (lower frequency).
Maybe the connectors are dirty. Use a special electronic cleaner.
And use an elastic around the battery and the dock to insure a good contact.

Re: Battery not charging in dock
Common issue. One of our 2 docks is bad, can't seem to fix with the suggested methods. At the end of day, we charge one battery in the good dock and other battery gets charged directly in the scanner.

Re: Battery not charging in dock
A problem with the connecting pins is very common, but it sounds to me like your problem is one we've experienced and that's with the "hot shoe" (dock) itself. The motherboard I believe it was. It's expensive to replace but I someone that can fix it for you - send me a message if you want the details

Re: Battery not charging in dock
Funny enough, I noticed that when you push the battery all the way in, it wouldn't charge sometimes. Try pulling it slightly out (1 mm or so) and see if that solves the problem

Re: Battery not charging in dock
UPDATE:
So I have looked into it a little further and it only seems to work on any battery now if you push the battery up against it.
