I was going to ask the same! CloudWorx Basic is a great entry point.

Re: Budget friendly pointcloud addon for Autocad
Hello,
We are currently using cloudworx to proces our scan data to 2D plans.
It works quite well but it is a version from 2015 and our maintenance has expired a few years ago.
Our scanning project are quite large: sometimes up to 200 scans and over 1 billion points.
I was also wondering if there is other/better software out there to do the job.
Adam (or someone else), have you already tested the UNDET software? And what are your experiences with it?
Thanks!

I want to try your plug in! I love Rhino and believe it a better tool than ACAD.Mark Christy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 10:21 am Hi Adam,
Although it's not AutoCAD please check out Rhino CAD and our plugin for it (Arena4D.. www.veesus.com).
Rhino does produce AutoCAD compatible output and combined with our plugin is a very popular tool for creating architectural drawings from point clouds. The cost is also somewhat less!

Re: Budget friendly pointcloud addon for Autocad
What format are you getting your pointcloud data in? If E57 or PTS or others Autodesk does have recap Pro. It works but is klugey in some ways, but you can make it work.adam.lucivjansky wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 6:28 am Hi colleagues,
I'm doing some research about softwares for pointcloud processing, I will need to create 2D building floorplans, elevations and sections from pointcloud data in Autocad. I know there is Cloudworx and Pointsense on the market and especially Pointsense looks pretty good from the videos I've seen so far but I'm little bit worried about price as I found it here: http://surveyequipment.com/kubit-pointsense-building/ being for sale for nearly £4000.... This is quite a lot for self employed person in central europe so I'm looking for more budget friendly alternative. It doesn't have to be too fancy, just containing basic funcionalities helping with pointcloud as using only native autocad is a bit painful.... Can you advice anything ? Thank you.

It's very user friendly and efficient, the project size doesn't matter.
You can generate Orthophotos out of the point cloud and draw upon these.
You can download the trial from our website.

I use pointcab all the time for slices and orthophotos. Very easy to learn and master.
I also deliver a lot of georeferenced dwg's with images to architects to draw themselves. Highly recommended

Anyone tried the new Ortho-slice/section tool in Cyclone BASIC yet? Produces a DXF with image slices ready for import to a CAD package...landmeterbeuckx wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 3:07 pm I use pointcab all the time for slices and orthophotos. Very easy to learn and master.
