Wanted: Old Leica or Faro unit
I need something that works but I am fine with an older model for some projects I am working on. I want to capture buildings/interiors for some art exhibits I am doing. If you have something that is a older unit let me know. I am in Toronto, Canada.

Re: Wanted: Old Leica or Faro unit
Hi Tan why do you suggest a RIEGL system? I have do not have experience with these systems.
Steven preferrably under 10k since software costs and calibration would add another 10k it seems. My budget is Higher if software licenses can be transferred. I am independent so the investment would be a lot for me and the barrier to entry is high in this field. I am really looking for old units that may not be suitable for construction accuracy but good enough for my purpose.

I've never tried Materport but I think you can buy a brand new one for half your budget. I hear they are not very accurate but the look great....they own the image you make from what was posted here not long ago...

Re: Wanted: Old Leica or Faro unit
Thanks, I have looked at Matterport. I need the pointcloud data locally so i think waiting until the newer realsense cameras come out might be better option if I went this route but I prefer long range scanner.
Does anyone know if any company transfers software licenses? I read Faro does not.

Jon,
Take a look at a product like the Leica BLK360. It may do the trick for you along with the software. You could try a long term rental for a month or two to check out different scanners.

Re: Wanted: Old Leica or Faro unit
Why don't you rent one or get someone scan it for you.
I`m in Vancouver but am sure there are some companies in Ontario who can help.
