New filter plugin available

Post by scankukai »

Hi everybody,

We are proud to announce the release of our new filter plugin.

The edge filter is now improved: more efficient, and much faster. We now use a multithreading mode that goes even faster than the inbuilt filters.

Less than 44 seconds on my laptop (MSI GE60 2QE) to remove the mixed points on 8 1/5 resolution scans, loading time included!

Video showing the new edge filter:

We also released other plugins: Realworks positions importer (PM me), txt/dxf export for free. And our object manager plugin that allows changing the object properties, creating custom planes, pipes, outlines etc...

And our prices are really friendly ;)

190€ to get the filter package that contains 6 filters.
90€ to get the object manager with 7 features... less than the price of a target sphere.

They all work on Scene / Scene LT, version 5.3 and above.

If you are interested, you can contact us at [email protected] , or visit the Faro app center:

Hello Yan,

I've just downloaded your app to try it an I have one question about Object Manager.
When I register the scans within a cluster using automatic names, then the Spheres get names: Sphere, Sphere1, Sphere2... and so on.
I tried to cut the "Sphere" part out and leave only the numbers, but somehow it's not working in Object Manager app with Find and Replace feature.
Is it because the string has to have the underscore symbol "_" at the end (e.g Sphere_4)?

Regards,
Maciej

Hello,

Indeed you need the underscore separator (Object_index). It is not possible to catch only a part of a word.

If you want to change the name of the Sphere1, then you have to enter "Sphere1", not only Sphere.

Personally, I don't know why Scene adds an index right after the word, contrary to the Focus that creates a scan name with an underscore.

Hi Maciej,

Maybe we found a way to isolate a part of a word and do a find / replace on it.

This way, if you have several spheres: Sphere1 ; Sphere2 ; Sphere3 .... you'll be able to enter "Sphere" and replace it by another word.

The feature works for any kind of object in Scene (points, spheres, planes).

We'll keep you informed.

The find - replace feature is now improved: you can enter only a part of an object name, and rename it. No need to use a "_" separator.

Example:
Current names: Sphere1 ; Sphere2 ; Sphere3
Find: Sphere
Rename: "Refsphere"
Result: Refsphere1 ; Refsphere2; Refsphere3

You can do this find replace on a selection of scans, on clusters, or on the whole project.

The new file will be on the app center soon.

Hi Yan,
This edge filter looks interesting. I tested it and it's much faster than old. Is it working with old TAN code? I bought licence for edge filter a long time ago for higher price than is today...

Hello,

For the customers who bought the plugin less than 6 months ago (July 2017), we propose an upgrade for 80€ (40% of the list price).

For older licenses, you need to buy the full license (190€).

We did major improvements and spent a lot of time working on the multi-threading and other hidden improvements. This is why it can't be free.

As you can see on the app center, our plugins are really cheap compared to others. And they do a lot of things: create custom planes to help registration, create standard pipes, outlines, find and rename objects, create circles, custom spheres, clean cylindrical tanks to only keep the points of shell etc... We are also users of our plugins, and we initially created them to save time.

TagLabs, my new company, doesn't work specifically on scans. We are about to launch a mobile app that will be extremely helpful for all people working in AEC industry and more... But for that, we need to sell plugins at least to cover some fix fees. So, buying our plugins is a way to support us ;)

Hi Yan,

I will try upgraded version as soon as possible.
But if you say that rename feature works as described then it's worth the money :)
I tried your filter long time ago and it works great!
