At less than $200, maybe an array of Lepton sensors all over the body would help but that seems very complicated:

Just as a reminder, I remember when I brought a Spheron HDR spherical camera to the Leica User's conference at San Ramon, California 10 years ago. I was met with the comment that scanning people do not need color images with their scans, and few knew what HDR images were then. It was at least 6 years before color imaging became internal in main stream scanning. We are doing thermal imaging with the Z+F T-Cam, but my guess it that although the demand is increasing, still too small a demand to move internal components around when a T-CAM scan is about 90 seconds and you can take it on/off very easily.

If you have a Z+F 5010C/5010X with the T-CAM, you can switch between BW scans, RGB scans and Thermal scans with a single click.
