scanning and photogrammetry
Thought I would share a recent project,
youtu.be/q2pF16olI6Q
This was done with a UAV, and having recently acquired a scanner we are looking forward to combining the 2 technologies, as in 'tools for the job' and creating larger terrains, with highly accurate scanned structures. this is one of our first scans.
youtu.be/TaMBy-BwUuA
Done on a bright day! and totally uncleaned. Will post a link when we have carried out a project with both technologies.
thanks

Impressive data sets collected there. Colour always looks good when there is no noise interruption.
Did you manage to carry out a project integrating the 2 data sets together? I'm curious as to what hardware and software you used?

Re: scanning and photogrammetry
The technologies are very complementary. I have combined them on many projects with great success.
You have the scanner with "high" accuracy, which can serve as control for the photogrammetry. And then you have the UAV that can shoot from nadir and unique perspectives not achievable by tripod scanner.
Looking good!

Wow - I particularly love the iron age settlement video. Very well produced and stunning data quality ! I can only imagine that it took a lot of work to get to that point

Re: scanning and photogrammetry
Hi
does take a fair bit of work, but having worked in the 3d visualsation sector for 15 years, I am used to manipulation and showing off 3d data, my problem is not being trained as a surveyor, and moving into that arena is where I find problems, mainly how to present my data in a way a client would expect, not as a visual, but as a measured drawing, I can use autocad, but there is more to it than that

This is combine of laser scan and photogrammetry. My project is some place of Quảng Trị Citadel, built in 1824. During the Vietnam War, when the province was the South's border with North Vietnam.
I use Faro X330 and Fujifilm Xt1 for capture data.
Thank and Happy Newyear for all
