Hi Mark,

Is this using the same point cloud engine that Leica are now using? These seem very similar in data structure, naming and titles?

xStream ~ JetStream
*.vpc (veesus point cloud) ~ *.hpc (hexagon point cloud)

It may just be me that's too observant :ugeek:

Hi Dave,

I can assure you that our engine has nothing whatsoever to do with the JetStream technology. Our engine is designed in house and is proprietary to Veesus. Whilst the two technologies achieve similar results they do so in very different ways. Our engine is not just a web streaming technology, but also underpins the rendering in all our products. The implementation just so happens to make the data very network friendly when transferred from somewhere other than a very fast hard drive, hence the ability to build our standalone server.

Feel free to download our server and sample data and have a play. It's free for a single point cloud.

Many Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

Sorry but I just assumed it was based on the Euclideon Geoverse point cloud engine. :ugeek:

No need for an apology Dave! :)

Two different technologies serving two different markets but no doubt with some overlap.

Like to test this out then to see if this as good as Leica's JetStream or Euclideon Geoverse. I suppose in your opinion this will be :D

It all depends on what you want to do really..If you're invested into the Leica ecosystem then JetStream is a no brainer.. however if you're a more general purpose Lidar worker with a number of different data providers then I think we provide a nice independent option.

If you want to stream to a web browser or mobile device and not just desktop software, then our server has that all built in thanks to the excellent PoTree framework.

As I said different tools for different users.. we don't support Autocad or Cyclone.. Jetstream doesn't support Web Browsers or Rhino...
