Re: FARO SWIFT scanning today

I opened an old job and found a checkered target 114.4' from the scanner that was picked up fine. The target size is 11"x12" printed on a 11x17 sheet of paper via laser printer.

I did this scan at 1/2 density I see.

So, maybe >100' at 1/4 density scan is a bit optimistic on my part.... It's been a while since needed that range on my targets.

The Mark Checkerboard tool did find the center just fine.

You can also do a selection by polygon and right click and Create Object > mean point and find the same center that way.

You can also get a pretty good reading on spheres by selection and create sphere if automatically finding them doesn't find them.

You can go up to 1/4 settings and 20 second anchor scans.
You might have a firmware update available. I think the most recent firmware updated to 25 seconds.

That is correct. Do you guys use swift on our project too Justin?

Thanks for sharing, so what I am seeing makes sense. Your targets are much larger also.

Getting ready for today SWIFT scanning day. Checked out the equipment yesterday as it has been 9 months since I used the SWIFT system.

I note that the maximum Anchor scanning time at 1/4 density is now 30 seconds. This would enable pretty fine detail capture in the Anchor scans if needed.

The current version for my S350 scanner is 6.8.2.9356

Other scanners may only go to version 6.8.1
