Face Blurring in Ivion
Does anyone have any successes with face blurring/editing the panos used to colorize the point cloud? I'm trying to blur faces and documents before uploading to Ivion, but Ivion isn't recognizing any changes to the DNG files. I've tried using jpeg, tiff, and png files, but these don't appear to work. Based off of the log files, it looks like they are denoising and sharpening the image and then autocorrecting the white balance before stitching them together.
Any help would be useful!

Re: Face Blurring in Ivion
As far as I am aware, the face blurring is still in development with the software developers. (ETA to rollout is between 6-12 months time)
This is something that will be pushed out on future updates, and can be retroactively applied to past projects.
I don't think its possible at this stage to manually do it and override the pano images...
Though I stand to be corrected.

Also very curious about this. We have a very large project that we've committed to with the understanding that this could be done (blur DNG). We were told this by the Navvis folks. Now we have 500gb of data that is potentially worthless if we cannot blur the images.

Re: Face Blurring in Ivion
We are also in need of a face blurring solution. After a recent inquiry, NavVis were uncommitted to a timeline, but said it’s on their development roadmap.
I’d like to know if they are working on an automatic/AI approach or something more traditional/manual. We would take ANY solution at this point - a couple of our customers are very frustrated over this.

Yes this could be posted there but if it did I would never see it.Augusto 3D wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 11:08 pm This would be best requested in the IVION forum I think.
If anything this deserves a place on Laser scanning forum more.
We purchased a VLX and are looking forward to working with it, but I will keep all comments and request here as it has more broad reach and I think It is important to share these issues with as many people as possible, we are all working towards a better goal. They do look at this forum as well. They have overall amazing support. I would not be surprised if they already saw this post as they are very pro active.
Face Blurring is not an easy task but if anyone is to provide a solution to this I wouldn't be surprised they would be the first to roll out an in house solution (vs Faro, Leica, etc.)

Re: Face Blurring in Ivion
I don't get your first comment. What do you mean you wont see it?
Either way yes Navvis are great when it comes to support, cant say same for others but that's not relevant. Enjoy your VLX(?). It's definitely a workhorse.
Related to face bluring, I think you can do it manually in the photos before processing (time consuming) but if its a requirement you can charge for it(?). Not an issue for us, I do have other things I wish they would fix though and I am sure they will because they are very customer service oriented.

Leica already has a face blurring algorithm in their Reg 360 program
Unfortunately ,although it can import a VLX Point Cloud now (E57 format comes in as a unified cloud with one orbiting setup) they still can't get the 360 pano images in as waypoint images. Once they can do this (Similar to what the BLK3GO does) then it would be golden
