A HIGHLY DETAILED SCAN TO BIM PROJECT - BY PROJECT SURVEYORS
The Royal Sydney Golf Club has just held the Australian Open. Please watch the results when Project Surveyors was asked to Laser Scan & Model this prestigious site.

Project Surveyors had the honor of being awarded the project by Royal Sydney Golf Course. The Project would involve scanning the main buildings to produce a detailed BIM model.
Data Capture
Laser Scanning would be carried out using Leica’s P20 & C10 Scanstations. It took around 1100 scans to fully capture throughout the building. A Leica MS50 was used to set up a control network. Colour imagery was also taken externally and internally to produce colourized point cloud and colourized web based 360 degree imagery.
An aerial drone used photography and control for the drone was controlled using a Leica Viva GS08 GPS package, this process would quickly gather photographs of the course, the imagery was then used to produce a pointcloud which was then used to create a surface model or digital terrain model.
Digital Realities
The final deliverable for the project would be:
• A Revit BIM model
• Pointclouds
• Topography as a digital terrain model
• Visualization as renders, walkthroughs & flythroughs
• Photos
• Web based imagery (Truview)
• Traditional 2d plans & elevations.
The BIM model was created in Autodesk Revit and included structural, architectural and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
Architectural detailing of skirting, cornices, & panelling was modelled in high detail and all components were assigned materials.
The ceilings show lights, and services that are associated with fire control systems. We even included the emergency exit lights.
The client wanted a range of visualization including external and internal walkthrough/flythrough. Videos of the model were created in 3d Studio Max, while pointcloud videos were created using Pointools and Navisworks.

Very complete project showing various skills. Congratulations!
I'd have one question: how much time to complete the Revit model from the pointcloud?
