Cool!
you can also open your PTL project files in View, so saved views, measurements, and other settings can be pre-set for your customer.

You may want to have a look at LFM NetView (this is what I imagine oatfedgoat was referring to with BubbleView).
It is free to the user, the only cost is to produce the deliverables.
There is a stand-alone version which uses data stored either locally or on a network, or a hosted version which allows unlimited users to collaborate and use additional functionality over a network or the web. There is a cost to maintain and distribute the hosted version.

It can also handle an unlimited number of scans. In a hosted web environment the user only ever downloads the BubbleViews and measurements/annotations are displayed in the image. Measurements are referred back to the high resolution point cloud via the NetView communication system.
In stand-alone configuration the BubbleViews and point data must be stored locally, so external hard drives are often used, the only limitation being the hard drive size (approx. 3500 scans would fit on a typical 500Mb external drive).

In it's full, hosted, shared solution NetView allows multiple levels of encryption on project files and all communication between the user and the central project database. Only users that are specifically given access and permission are able to view or contribute to the project information.

There are a few sample projects available on the link below...

I did consider LFM for a few seconds... I am a Leica Cyclone user and have not had fun using LFM... sorry but it's true :)

Thanks anyway.

Another possibility, I have navis works simulate installed but have yet to even open it and have a go... I must get around to it :)

I think that Pointools will be the way forward from me now ;)
If you don't see that there is nothing, then you are kidding yourself.

LiDAR360 Lite is a good alternative free version of LiDAR360 which is pretty extensive. There is a free download on the website www.greenvalleyintl.com/software-downloads

I see this post is a bit old but since it has come up again the Trimble RealWorks viewer has quite a few features. You can find a quick start video for you or your clients here
youtu.be/

and a more in depth video here

youtu.be/.

It also some has nice tools for evaluating the quality of the registration.

Hi

have a look at Geoverse lite to visual massive data. No installation needed to navigate and measure in any size dataset for the user.

The link below is a open to use for everyone.
http://geoverse.euclideon.com - choose the closest host to you (right upper corner)

The structure of Geoverse Lite is a monthly payment for hosting the data with different modules, meaning what functionality the user will have.

If you have question regarding pricing and modules please contact me.

Matt

Discovered this one the other day. It's not bad, reads las files and has basic measurement functions. Works online (or uses html browsers engines to run it), so you only need the las file to load up.

Hi,

For Autodesk suite users Naviswork file sets can be an option. Naviswork freedom 3D viewer handles mid-sized point cloud along with CAD pretty well.
We have started sending out these files as a standard viewer package to our clients.

Cheers,
G SHRINIVAS
