Re: Thread for SCENE software additions/enhancements
I would like to have a user controlled threshold on which spheres to use. So, I want to tell Scene not to use any spheres that are below 200 points.

Hi Eugene.
Doesn´t that already work by only having 200mm defined in the "match sphere" settings?
Best regards,
Oliver Bürkler

Oh, I see. You are using the Point Cloud Polygon Selector instead of the Polygon Selector - a confusing discrepancy. I did not know that deleting Point Cloud points were applied back to the scans. Does it work with Project Point Clouds as well as Scan Point Clouds?
Also, as it had been said, deleting the points outside the selection, or inverting the selection would be best for cropping the entire project to the area of scope and ensuring that the stray points are deleted.
It only works for scan point clouds. Project point clouds are filtered and baked together in a way that we cannot apply changes back to the scan data today.
Inverting selections on point clouds will be part of the next feature update

Re: Thread for SCENE software additions/enhancements
I mean 200 points, not the sphere size. If Scene detects a sphere with less than 80 points, it turns yellow. I would like to be able to specify that Scene not use any spheres that are below 200 points. This way, spheres that are on the edge of detection are not problematic. This is common in target with high tensions. You see the sphere is close in one scan, but farther away in another.Oliver Buerkler wrote:Hi Eugene.

Also, it would be nice to have the number of points detected for checkered targets visible too since sometimes the checkered targets are detected, but the estimated center of the sphere is off.

Automatic find checkerboards up to a user distance from scanner. Automatic Find Sphere up to a user defined distance from the scanner.

Yes!! I don't use auto detection because of too many false positives and yellow spheres.

Re: Thread for SCENE software additions/enhancements
I would love to see layers based on content that could be turned on or off like mode Cad or photography programs. Layers could be buildings, vegetation, moving objects like cars or people etc. You then would be able to export any one or more layers, find bear earth for DTM creation, contouring etc.
I would like SCENE to be able to find any defined object like street light, power pole, fire hydrant etc. And find and trace power lines and export .dxf files to bring all of the above layers into and CAD program.
SCENE should also be able to mesh better including tunnels. SCENE should also create contours.
SCENE 2GO should allow me to pick lots of points in a spreadsheet format where I could alsi add a descriptor so I could bring that data into a CAD program instead of just one point saved at,a time to the clipboard.
Got other ideas, post them here.

Would .obj work for you?
There is actually a way of doing this. It was meant to be used in another way but you can create a selection and fit a mean point.Felix_the_Cat wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 2:07 am

In the model tree there will be a point fit object below the 3d point.
Right click this fit object and click "select" and it will recreate the original selection.
Maybe this helps.

+1 to this, customization of the auto-detection feature would be a huge time-saver.
I'd also like to see the implementation of custom hot-keys.
It would be hugely useful and time saving to be able to hit keys to change my pointer's function.
