We have been completing a number of projects where the primary work involves:
- Roadway intersection sections of approx 150m each entry (circa 600m)
- Establish a control network - on MGA to a high level of accuracy
- Scan sufficient to create point cloud and extract roadway features - linework, kerb lines, overhead power etc
The workflow we have established involves taking each scan from a known location (Survey), from the scan station - radiate all spheres (2 forward/ 2 rear), spacing approx 40m between scan stations. The scans progress along roadway scanning from both sides of road (central also if possible). This method should eliminate creep/ rotation caused by the scale factor. With each scan group forming a separate cluster.
The main issue is - Scene seems to move the survey control points(only fractionally but still moves). I would expect there is a way to "lock" the scan stations and sphere positions.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Paul

Re: Scale Factors and locking Survey Control points
So you treat each scan seperately? I think you should register the pointcloud together and apply survey control as a last step.
Register all and lock the cluster. Make a new cluster above this one with control and register all in this cluster. This should work.
