Re: create scan manager
Wow you just revived the biggest update fustration I ever had with Scene. In 5.5 you could do a right click and create a scan manager. Now if you want to do this without moving the scans, you have to do this trick; Start a cloud2cloud with very low subsampling and immediatelly cancel the process. You can now lock the scan manager. This is very fustrating especially when importing already registered scans.

Wow, does this really work?!? Would be great improvement to our workflow if it does.Start a cloud2cloud with very low subsampling and immediatelly cancel the process. You can now lock the scan manager.
I don't understand why Faro/Scene won't allow some more robust tools for "locking" scans in current position/orientation and honoring that location until unlocked. Perhaps "anchoring" would be the term, with a little icon of an anchor to indicate it will not move until acted upon. Sort of like the "reference" scan, but truly not movable. Currently, even reference scans may move (unpredictably by my assessment) when dragged and dropped - even with "move and keep position" selected.
Nice tip Leandre Robitaille!

Re: create scan manager
I completely agree, implementing this basic functionlity and following through with the logical implications of it, would make a lot of tasks much easier and more intuitive. I'd say 'lock' is a pretty good term that is consistent with other software.

Re: create scan manager
You'll have to go to the new UI, registration tab, and there select the cluster you want to create the scan manager in. Select "manually finished" to get the scan manager for it. Third icon (the one with the wrench).
