Here is an example of Laser-HDR indoors with quick 'even weighting' colour capture applied which doesn't account for any specific light source during capture.
As you can see I have over exposure from the windows and under exposure from the dark space to the right with black painted steelwork.
LaserHDR will bring that detail back into the images from the point cloud.

In the indoor sample panorama's i can see some stitch errors in the middle of the pictures, is that only a visual error or is that visible in the scans themselfs as well?
Am I right that you refer to the vertical line exactly in the middle of the images?
This is no stitching error but a visualization of the overlapping area at the 180° mark. During capturing this small section is captured twice (at the beginning and the end of a scan). In 3D those points look perfectly fine (with increased density in this part).

FARO apologizes for the error and reiterates that the S70 will receive the distance targetting firmware and updates will be ready as soon as our Product Management issues the fix.

Happy scanning! :)
I can confirm this statement from Product Management side and personaliy apologize for the confusion. We will listen to you and enable the functionality as soon as possible in the next Firmware update.

Going back to SCENE: Like promised, here you can download a trial version for SCENE 2018
https://3d-apps.faro-europe.com/product/scene-trial/

There was a question how the FARO As-Built Software will handle the High Details Scans.
You will have both data available for modeling. You can use all data to fit precisely the objects to the cloud and you also have the possibility to turn on and off the different scans from the scan groups. So it is seamless integrated and ready for your current existing workflows. Here you have a screenshot in surface normal colorization showing the detail scan of the sphere on a tripod (26 meter away, 1/1 resolution) combined with the low resolution scan (1/5 scan resolution).

Yesterday Scene 7.1.1.81 said update to 2018.0.0.648 was available.
Today Scene 7.1.1.81 says update to 7.2.0.648 is available.

ATS Quality manager now at 2.1.5.
on two different machines I have a 2.1.3.7 and 2.1.4.7.

Does anyone know the "correct" versions of both SCENE and ATS Quality manager :?: :
* Scene 2018.0.0.648 OR 7.2.0.648
* ATS Quality Manager 2.1.3.7 or 4.7 or 5.?

7.2.0.648 is the internal version.
There is a problem with the update dialog in the old SCENE UI that kept showing the "New Version" notification even though the latest version was installed. In order to stop this behavior we had to change the information in our update server to the internal version number 7.2.0.648. This is identical with 2018.0.0.648. Sorry for the confusion :roll:

Well done on the laser HDR function. Works a treat and makes a big difference to the point cloud colouring too!

The ghost people and cars are a bit creepy though....
