Hey Faro, where is the OBJ import?

I'm too lazy to post an image, but its in the manual for three versions now. It says you can do it. The mysterious page 153 with the details.

Anybody have any luck importing textures in any way?

There is something in the manual too about 24 bit images but nothing worked for me.

Anyone have any luck?

I don't know if this obj import works but what i can say that the manual is crap. I've learned everything from youtube videos and this forum.

I just tested the OBJ import in the latest SCENE 2019.1 release and it works for me like expected. I can just drop OBJ files in the structure view or do Import -> Import Objects in the new UI.

Tested four different OBJ files and all worked. A textured one exported from SCENE itself, a textured one written with Meshlab, a textured example from the internet (http://paulbourke.net/dataformats/obj/minobj.html) and another untextured example from the internet.

It works with JPEG textures or 24/32 bit PNG textures. VR should even support partially transparent textures.

Can you share an example file that does not work? Please keep in mind that textured OBJ files are actually always three files, the OBJ itself, a material (MTL) file and the image with the texture.
