Trimble Realworks vs Leica Cyclone Register targetbased registration

Post by soranan »

Hi everyone

I have been lucky enough to work with both Leica and Trimble hardware and software.
Currently, i am working in Cyclone again, but i miss the way TRW did target based registration, specially the target extraction-part.
TRW is able to extract targets along with the import, name each target unique number and use them for registration.

Cyclone is also able to extract targets along with the import, but only with a vertex and NO point number. So we have to manually name each target.

Is there a way to the target naming easier, or as in TRW?

Thank you in advance.

If I remember rightly... (I think)... Cyclone will match based on geometry alone and allow you to align to targets without naming them individually.

I haven't had the need to do this for a while, but try naming 3-4 across the job and it should be fine (and less time-consuming).

Let me know if this helps you.
