LFM - very few points displayed.

Post by JMaxwellTSS » Thu Aug 16, 2018 6:04 pm

Evening Everyone.

I've imported a large number of E57's and converted them to ZFC's. when I view the data in LFM it looks shocking though! Any idea what might have caused this? Can I choose to load more points in LFM?

NB - When I export back to E57 from LFM the files look good if opened in cyclone / Recap etc so I'm confident that the ZFC's have not been decimated on import.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James

In the attached files you can see the same file opened in both recap and LFM. You'll understand my problem with LFM!

Thanks again for the help I've been provided. Just in case anyone else is seeking an answer to this I wanted to run through the solution.

Create a limit box for the area that you need. (hit enter)
When the dialogue box comes up one of the options is subdraw. Lower numbers are better quality - If you set this to 1 you should see everything! (that wasn't obvious to me before).

I hope this helps someone!

James

Hi James,

Thanks for following up with your solution in order to help other users. To elaborate on what you've said - a subdraw of 1 is all the points from all the scans within the volume box. A subdraw of 2 is half the points, a subdraw of 4 is a quarter of the points etc.

LFM Server will automatically suggest what it considers to be the best compromise between density and performance. You can override the subdraw if desired but bear in mind for high density over a large area this may impact on performance. If you enter a density that LFM Server considers will impact performance too much, the subdraw field will turn orange and LFM Server will give the highest density possible whilst still allowing the user to move/rotate the view etc.

Regards,
Jenni
