Hi guys,
we just startetd to use Pointools in order to make some animations out of scans we record with a Leica P40.
Now I have problems to setup a proper workflow.
First I register my stations within cyclone, then I export the project as a pts-file which tend to get extremly large (15 stations will lead to a 60 GB file). Pointools will take a long time to import such a large file.
So I tried to import the cyclone-exported PTS to ReCap which is much faster. Now I can export it from ReCap to PTS again. Now the filesize is just 2 GB instead of the 60 GB file from Cyclone. Why there is such a large difference in filesize? Can you recommend a proper workflow for exporting a pointcloud from Cyclone in order to use it in Pointools?
It would be great if someone can give me some support with that.
Cheers,
Matthias

Re: Workflow Cyclone to Pointools
Matthias,
From Cyclone export either PTX or PTS. PTX will give you scanner locations. Bentley has a free download POD. Use the POD creator to import into Pointtools.
