Hey guys, started putting pipes in project but for some reason the pipes appear rectangular instead of circular, I would attach a screen cap but I'm not sure how you can do that, if you can do that here.
Anyone else had this before?

Re: Square Pipes
Just an update, tried opening an older project which was fine, and all the circular assets in there as well were now rendered square instead of circular.
Is there any way to fix this?

Re: Square Pipes
Hey Nikolas,
If you are using cyclone you may need to turn up the complexity at which the pipes are displayed. Go into 'View','View object as' and select highest complexity to view the pipe as a proper circular shape.
Other than that it may me a graphics card issue,
best of luck,
Chris

Re: Square Pipes
Hey guys, ok problem resolved, the asset detail in the options was low, turned it up to full and that fixed the problem..
However still having some trouble with the automatic placement of pipes. Most of the time it will get either the diameter or length or orientation wrong. Do most people get the pipes placed exactly how they should be? Is there any way i can improve it?
Cheers

Re: Square Pipes
Which method are you using to place the pipes?
Region grow, Fit fenced,or place at pick point. Or are you using the pipe modelling tool?
There are severall parameters for pipe placement and also some default values that can be edited, it all depends on what you are trying to achieve.

If you don't see that there is nothing, then you are kidding yourself.

Re: Square Pipes
Erm to be honest the methods you mention i.e. region grow and fit fenced dont seem to ring a bell when it comes to Reality Linx for modeling pipes. I'm more aware about their meaning in Cyclone for editing the cloud itself.
The place at pick point is the one i was using i suppose, in fact now i tried all the assisted methods INOVx has, i.e. best fit single, best fit double, and even the cross-section one where u pick 3 points on the cross section. This last one should be full-proof as you indicate the orientation and size of the pipe, but for some reason it gets the size right but the orientation is still way off for some reason.
The only one i havent tried is the center-line one as the pipes appear hollow and there are no points to pick in the centre.

Re: Square Pipes
OK the pipe orientation problem was because orthogonal mode was turned on in the assisted modelling wizard so thats what kept causing the pipes to be nonaligned
