Massive 3D printer

Post by Mike Annear »

This might be slightly off topic, but it is important for folk like me who 3D model for the boat building industry.
What a great bit of kit !!

I am not too sure how strong the 3D print will be compared to normal composite hulls, but it will speed up hull concept testing.
They certainly could have used it for the new Americas Cup AC75's (It is good to see Rhino 3D used here)

You can 3D print molds and do glass and resin like any other boat. 3d printed things tend to be brittle and sheer along the layers.
Depends on many factors.

You could always put fiberglass and resin over the 3D print.
