I am not too sure how strong the 3D print will be compared to normal composite hulls, but it will speed up hull concept testing.
They certainly could have used it for the new Americas Cup AC75's (It is good to see Rhino 3D used here)

You can 3D print molds and do glass and resin like any other boat. 3d printed things tend to be brittle and sheer along the layers.
