Afternoon all,
We had our old Focus stolen yesterday in Highbury London.
Serial No.LLS061101612 if anyone is offered it.
Thrown into the back of the car so I would imagine it’s out of calibration...
I don’t see anything reported on here lately, even though I’m hearing it’s gone a bit turbo in London recently with thefts?

Not scanners, but we've a lot of our users who have had total stations nicked, some with threats of violence. Sorry to hear about your loss and hope you manage to get it back.

Re: Stolen Faro Focus3DS 120
Seems like a uk problem. Of course there will be stuff stolen on the continent but whenever i read something about this it is in the uk.
When i measure with the total station, it is standing alone but in sight. Scanning of course is always with me next to the gear. Never ever will i walk away from it. If it isn't going to be stolen, some poor sod will let it fall over because he walks between my cones

Sucks man, sorry to hear that. Be sure to inform FARO rep as well. We can keep try to keep an eye on these things getting offered on Ebay, etc. Sounds like they stole an expensive paperweight unless the thieves are a start-up service provider offering non calibrated laser scanning.
Wish it was just a UK thing. We were at Pier 9 Autodesk office just a few weeks ago and experienced a nice smash & grab to our back window. Stole all of our computers and my luggage. Thankfully they left our expensive scanners/projectors in their pelican cases. Showed up to Autodesk University in Vegas 2 days later with practically nothing. Laughing now but sucked in the moment. Note to self: Uber in SanFran and carry your stuff everywhere. If Autodesk offers you a parking spot on their lot, take it. I kept looking around expecting to see people wearing my FARO shirts and headphones

Re: Stolen Faro Focus3DS 120
Hi Scott, I contacted Faro straight away and they have updated their systems.
I would very much like to see a total in value of equipment that is stolen. I guess that Mr Sharp at Leica may have an estimate if he is still the guy in the know there just in terms of Leica kit?
It must have well surpassed £1M by now surely?
