Re: Leica BLK3D
I guess it can be handy at places where the laser scanner can't see + no messing with the pointclouds. Any idea how much is it going to cost?

Re: Leica BLK3D
I am thinking of using it to measure leases and office space. It doesn't appear to be well advertised but they did talk about measuring distance by placing it against perpendicular walls and it recognising the difference between them. It must have a pretty decent IMU i guess. I didn't get a chance to ask them about that while I was there. I wonder if anyone else followed that up.
I think it would be also be useful to architects or shopfitout crews to do their planning work.

Re: Leica BLK3D
For my engineers, architects and construction guys I support there are a TON of applications for this. To-scale photos are something they all have been asking for
Really excited to hear more on this

Anyone uses one of these? It is a few years old, are there updates coming up in the future?

Simple captures of 1 facade, a few interior walls without the need to pull out a scanner....Ioannis wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 3:55 pmWhere to use it give me an example.landmeterbeuckx wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 1:24 pm Anyone uses one of these? Re: Leica BLK3D
Nearly bought one for our project to use for close in documentation... I.e. before you close in drywall wall or ceilings, use the device to capture images with the ability to pull accurate dimensions on. Reason we didn't buy one was because we were using the RTC 360 for that purpose and didn't need that in addition... Looking back I wish we did because you can use it to control your RTC 360 (like an iPad/phone) to also add the measurable jpegs as geotags when scanning on site.
I suppose it'd be a similar product to matter port, but it won't create a full 3d model. Just measurable images. I haven't heard anything on an update, so I imagine it's probably not getting a new model/version. Especially considering the blk360 and its speed.
