Hi,
I've made a handy tripod from an industrial stool with a plate and a 5/8" screw on it to do scanning indoors more efficient.
Without scanner
In my office with scanner
Here in action in a staircase
Definitely saves me some time. It's easier to walk around and place than a tripod. Still needs some tweaking though.
Cheers

I make sure that everything is stable. There are 5 support legs so no worries there. This would not work when there are people around though.
For traversing through a floor of an appertment it does the job!

How heavy is the scanner?
With the faro (5.5 kg) a photographic tripod is a great solution, even along stairways. I use a Manfrotto Triman 028B. Sometimes I consider a lighter and smaller one, but during a scan session the extra stability or elongation options are a great plus, at the expense of little extra weight.

Re: Handy little tripod for indoor use
between 12~15kg depending on what is put on.
The beauty of this is that i can take the handles of the scanner and move forward to a next position. No hassle to enter a small space like a toilet and no fear of touching the top of a door like when the scanner is on a tripod.
For the people who live there it is also more convenient.

Hi Lieven, maybe off topic, but looking at your Riegl used in indoor spaces i’m thinking: the 100 degree vertical field of view is a problem for indoor scanning? thanks Lieven

Re: Handy little tripod for indoor use
Hi Gabrio,
No problem. There are holes in the ceiling but if you want evey room complete (ceiling) just do a scan more a bit further away. For this project i don't need all the ceiling (no Bim) so i'm fine.
I used the tilt mount for other stuff though. wWorks good.
