Probably not at that price, size and weight That why running it alongside a ScanStation would be an invaluable survey workflow.

That would cost quite a lot in Autodesk subscriptions and creditsSCCS HDS wrote:I think lots of companies will have one per surveyor
I presume there will be the possibility at launch to be able to capture with the BLK360 and process in Cyclone.
Just remember though, Autodesk obviously invested time an money in this joint venture and will be expecting returns via credits.
As such, I don't expect that small little survey companies figured heavily in their thoughts. It will be large companies with existing Enterprise agreements and those that will willingly invest accordingly in credits.
Overall, a sexy unit and a very smart move by Autodesk to make their point cloud processing software the most used in the market place.

Re: BLK360 wow new Leica/Autodesk scanner
I am impressed , but partially disappointed by the lack of dubstep. I am sure I will get my fill when the product video comes out
My perception of what Leica concentrates on would have never led me to believe that they would produce such a device. In other words I am quite blind-sided by the contrast to their current line of scanners.
As a user who has always wanted scanners to be smaller, easier to use, with faster color capture, I think this is a very exciting development. Thermal too! Should be a perfect fit for fast "reality capture" projects. I guess there is no spec sheet yet, but since this is a Leica product I can surmise that quality of data will still be very good.
This time it seems like Leica and Autodesk may have lived up to the hype!

Re: BLK360 wow new Leica/Autodesk scanner
I tip my hat to Leica on this.
I was just about to sign the dotted line for another manufacturers scanner, think i'll wait a bit...
Though I will need to total up all the sundries like software training, software costs, blood transfusions, maintenance licences etc that Leica and autodesk will require you take out.
