Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank Building, New York

Post by jneilon »

Here is my latest project. I was tasked to mesh / sculpt ornate elements of the Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank Building in NY. Peter McCann Architectural Models and Control Point sent me the pointcloud.
I meshed and sculpted a lot of missing details. Lots of fun!

Wow! That is really cool, those are 3D printed? What scale is the building in?

Hi Matt,
The images that are in white are actually just renderings of what was printed.. Sadly I did not print these but they were printed and they looked pretty much the same. You can see them in the final model. I cannot seem to find what scale they ended up in.. I only did the 3D work so the scale didn't matter that much. If you look at my Behance link you can see it is pretty massive I think it was about 3.5m tall in the end. The original building is about 17 storeys so maybe 100 meters tall. Guessing 1:25 if my math checks out..

No just those elements the rest was painstakingly reconstructed.
