Jacket scan

This job was a scan of a small 'jacket' which was in transport on a barge to its installation location at an oil field development off of Taranaki, New Zealand. The scans purpose was to identify the locations of a J-tube flange face and two LBL transponder mounts in terms of the jacket's design UCS. This data was then used in the LBL survey required to effect the flowline tie-in to the J-tube.

Modelling of structural members, J-tube flange and transponder buckets can be seen.

Interestingly the HDS3000 successfully scanned (2 linked scans) aboard a floating barge while moored in Port Taranaki with 0.5 m swells in port. Both scan positions were aboard the barge and background scan data onshore showed the swell movement but of course was of no consequence.
