Re: BETA of HTML 5 interface
Been trying to get this set up but unfortunately cannot get it to work on either my company Nokia Lumia 830 Windows phone or my own HTC One Mini. Tried using Opera on the Windows phone but that doesn't seem to do anything at all.
Any ideas?

Re: BETA of HTML 5 interface
That's strange. It is usually a breeze. What steps are you taking? This is what we do.
1. Make sure the scanner's firmware supports WiFi, and if you want HTML5 install one of the latest versions.
2. Turn the scanner's WiFi on and lookup it's IP in the menus.
3. Connect remote device directly to scanner's WiFi network. SSID should be your serial number. If it doesn't connect take a few steps back.
4. Enter the scanner's IP into the address bar of your browser. For our scanner the IP is as follows: (Edit)192.168.111.2:8400 for the flash version or 192.168.111.2:8400/ui/ for the HTML5 version. You must have Flash for Android installed to use the Flash interface, and some browsers don't support it.
5. Wait until the scanner's interface appears on your screen.
If your are still having problems reboot both devices.
We have a project where every scan is made from the remote control interface, and would be almost impossible without it. It has never failed to work with any of our devices and we have used many. Maybe you have the only two that don't work, but that would be a surprise.

Re: BETA of HTML 5 interface
Points 1-5 - yep done all that. Neither of phones have flash so I guess I could try to install that but the HTML5 definitely isn't working, and it definitely does work on 'i' devices such as the ones the IT guy had when he was standing next to me.

Re: BETA of HTML 5 interface
hmm
Seems unlikely, but I wonder if there are some HTML5 support issues with their browsers?

http://html5test.com/
After entering the ip, does your browser immediately say "page not found" or does the interface try to load but stalls out?

Immediately say "Sorry, this browser is not supported yet". That's IE on the Windows phone. If I do it on Opera it just directs me to this thread!jcoco3 wrote:hmm

Re: BETA of HTML 5 interface
I've installed flash and Dolphin for my Android but it still doesn't work. I begin suspect it might be my phone, which doesn't seem to wan to stay connected to the scanner's WLAN. I have also now come to the realisation that Windows mobile doesn't have a decent browser and doesn't sound like it will ever do.rb5543 wrote:Might be helpful,

Re: BETA of HTML 5 interface
Try using Firefox. Firefox is very strict when it comes to adhering to standards.
My software relies heavily on HTML5 features and I don't think I'll ever be able to support IE. Why???!!!!
Chrome is not as good as Firefox, with regard to standards compliance, but is not bad. Opera can be touch and go with particular features.
I have absolutely no idea what you guys are doing, but given what you are trying to do, I'm going to guess that you need 'sockets'. Test socket usage here: https://www.websocket.org/echo.html

Re: BETA of HTML 5 interface
I have helped loads of individuals connect to their scanners.
There have been a few from each of the flavors of phones (iOS, Android and Windoze) that just will not connect.
The rest of the class connects fine, but there is occasionally that "one" person that can't.
I have no idea why.
