Hi all,
I have looked on this forum and couldn't see if anyone else had this issue so I thought I would post this.
I had some issues with trying to process some scans I have done, the main issue was when I tried to add the hdr colour to the scans an error message would appear and the processing would fail.
These were scanned using a faro focus x130 hdr, the setting i used were:
Colour scan,
1/1 resolution,
3x quality,
Exposure: Horizon weighted metering,
5x HDR,
Distance Far,
Clear contour and clear sky are both ticked.
I have spoken to Mahmoud from faro about this issue and this is what he suggested:
1) close scene
2) Start the registry Editor. (to do this, search "regedit" in the windows search bar)
3)follow this path "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FARO\SCENE7\Settings"
4) click on the "settings" box then scroll down to "KeepLDRPanoramasInTree" this will be set to true.
5) replace "true" with "false"
6) now colourise the scans.
7) now the scans have been processed repeat steps 1-5 but instead of "false" replace it with "true"

We ran into the same issue.
1:1 scans with HDR do not seem to process.
The work-around with registry did not work for us.
Also on 1:1 scans without HDR the project point cloud computation fails.
Were you able to find a solution?

could you please report which version of SCENE you were using for this task? We hoped to have fixed this bug in the 2018.0 release.
