Ordered a Vz400i
Hi,
After a lot of decision making, questions on this board viewtopic.php?f=69&t=11421&hilit=vz400i, i've finally ordered a Riegl Vz400i.
I've had all the players at my office to demonstrate. My findings are to be found at https://rplstoday.com/community/threads ... er.331025/
Let the jobs roll in!

Re: Ordered a Vz400i
Congratulations - and really good to see another Riegl user on here. The VZ-400i is a seriously impressive bit of kit.
I had the privilege of scanning a little cliff-top church in south-west England with one last week, both outside and inside. We took 37 scans in total, no levelling, to targets, just plonked the scanner down each time and pressed "go". Each scan was 15 million points (roughly 10mm x 10mm at 10m, and six photos with the Nikon D610 with HDR mode switched on. 90 seconds per scan including images.
I didn't use the on-board registration feature as I wanted to watch RiSOLVE do it's auto registration because I'm a geek. The scans registered completely automatically in seven minutes. I'll try to get permission to post a video of the process on here.
Cheers,
Joe

I have always been impressed with Riegl an their technology. They also have very knowledgeable people working on staff.
I have no doubt it was a good decision and a great piece of kit!

That's "no targets" !!
In demo-ing the scanner, we spawned a new phrase: 'Plonk 'n' press'.
Great little project at a stunning location.

I'm also impressed with their way of dealing with potential new clients. No pushing to order, answering every question i asked, flexible with dates to collect the instrument,...3DForensics wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 1:07 pm I have always been impressed with Riegl an their technology. I also ordered a Scan-go LEVEL-PLANE EVO 16 RADIO and a mast to mount behind my car and on a trolley (Fireco systems). Within 2 weeks i'm in business. I'll post some pictures and my findings within the coming months.
