colorizing SX10 scans

Post by blazaj » Mon Oct 22, 2018 11:27 am

Hi everybody,

I have a question for Trimble SX10 scanning total station users here on the forum. I'm renting the instrument to capture a church tower of app. 50m height and produce orthophotos of its facade. I plan to take partial high detail scans with SX10 to capture the tower from all sides. I'll try to use internal SX10 camera for colorization of the scans. But to make sure I get good quality color information I will also use Gigapan with DSLR to shoot panoramas from scanner positions. The question is, is it possible to colorize SX10 scans with non paralax external photos / panoramas? In other words can I export gridded scans from SX10 in E57 or any other format?

Many thanks for any suggestions!
Regards
Jiri

Using Trimble RealWorks, it is possible to convert your SX10 scans to TZF files. Then you can use RealColor to colorize without parallax using a panorama. You will also be able to export into another supported gridded format (eg: E57, PTX).

Thank you Guillaume,

that's exactly what I need. I wanted to take the colorization to Faro Scene I'm more familiar with. Is it possible to colorize partial scans in TRW? I did some tests with Real Color, but I suceeded with full 360 scans + 360 panoramas only, not cropped ones.
