Export pano images from E57

Post by amirmi »

Hello,

I was wondering what is the simplest way to export pano images from an E57 file?
Preferably in C#, Python

Thank you!

Thanks for letting me know of the e57unpack.exe.
Works great. But - it exports the images as a cube (of 6 images) - how can I automatically create a pano image out of it?

I use Pano2VR to go from cube to equirectangular.

Facebook made a filter to convert between cubemap and equirectangular projection formats, and they have released it to general public https://github.com/facebook/transform360

I don't know C++ and I haven't been able to get the e57unpack working. Any instruction that you could give would be appreciated!

Thank you about that - will give it a try soon.
Oh, sure. So here are the steps (the good news are that you don't need to know C++):
  • Extract the folder and go to the bin folder.
  • Open CMD in that location and run the following command: e57unpack.exe <path_to_E57_file> --no-points
  • There should now be a new folder named as your E57 file inside the bin folder
Please let me know if managed to run it now.

Thanks for the help, all working now. Luckily, I have a Publisher license for Cyclone - but may be useful in the future...
