Align Register360 project to an existing .E57 or .PTS

Post by ajccad »

I have some old .E57 and .PTS scan files of a site that were used to model the as-built condition. The scan and model share the same UCS which is just in an arbiturary location in the corner of a building.

I would like to C2C register/align some new scans to the old one using Register 360 so that the USC is in the same location for all new scans. I can do this in CloudCompare pretty easily but would prefer to do it in Reg360 before export.

Is this possible? Or is there a better method I can use?

If you import the E57 and they still have the UCS, you should be good to go. If not just manual set the UCS. The most recent Reg360 update made it super simple.

You could also Experiment with sitting virtual targets to help alignment
